Grandfather and Grandson Brawl in Clay Township

A Clay Township man contacted deputies at 6 pm to report that his grandfather attacked him and he was forced to retaliate. Additionally, the man claimed his grandfather attacked his grandmother.

When officers arrived on the scene, they heard a different side of the story. The investigation determined there had been some pushing and shoving, but no one was injured.

The grandmother said she was fine and that she had not been physically assaulted. Neither party wanted to press charges. Officers advised the grandson to leave for a day.

The hospital released him, and he returned to jail.

Man Says Cousins Want To Cut Him

A man contacted Portsmouth Police Officers just before 1 am to report people were following him on Gallia Street.

When police responded to the scene, he told them he thought his cousins were coming after him. He said he overheard them talking in the bedroom about cutting someone, and he believed he was the someone they were talking about him.

However, he said they made no direct threats to him. He told police he was walking home to his house on 6th Street. The officer said he would stay in the area and that the man should contact the police if he had any problems.
