A woman contacted the SCSO to report that her elderly parents were stuck in a dangerous domestic standoff. She said her mother was threatening to shoot her father and had banished him to the garage and threatened to shoot him if he came out.
The daughter says he can’t call the police because they only have a landline and her mom listens in on the calls. She wanted the police to do a welfare check and take the guns from the home.
When officers arrived at the scene, they reported that both parties were blaming each other and refusing to allow either to come into each other’s space. The deputy suspected there were mental health issues involved.
Both parties refused medical treatment.
