Officers responded to a frightening situation just after midnight on Gallia Street. A witness reported a car in line at the Taco Bell Drive-Thru that was not moving and said the driver appeared to be passed out.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered there was a child in the car.
Police took Dezzarae Seymour into custody and took her to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post for a sobriety test.
They contacted Child Protective Services and a caseworker gave permission for one of the child’s family members to pick him up. CPS said they would follow up the next morning. Officers arranged for the vehicle to be towed.
Police charged Dezzarae Seymour with driving under the influence and child endangerment. Bail was set at $3500.
