U.S. Marshals Auction Off Movie Cars

The U.S. Marshals are auctioning off three amazing movie cars on August 1. They belonged to convicted Medicaid cheat Ryan P. Sheridan. Sheridan used his rehab center to rip off the Federal Government to the tune of $48 million dollars. He used some of that money to purchase replicas of movie cars. Law enforcement seized the vehicles when he was arrested. Now, they could be yours.

The U.S. Marshals announced an auction in Canal Fulton, Ohio, at 9 a.m. EDT Saturday, Aug. 1.

“These three flashy cars are an example of the ill-gotten gains obtained with the tens of millions of dollars that Ryan Sheridan stole from Medicaid, and therefore American taxpayers,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott of the Northern District of Ohio. “The U.S. Marshals routinely sell vehicles, real estate, and other assets in order to return proceeds to victims of federal crimes.”

Let’s check out the vehicles and learn how to bid on them in these next three slides.

1
back to future

Back To The Future DeLorean

This 1981 DeLorean customized to look like the “Back to the Future” time machine.

The vehicle is customized inside and out to look just like the vehicle Michael J. Fox used in the 1985 movie.

No word on whether or not the flux capacitor is functional.

2
ecto-1

Ghostbusters ECTO 1

Ecto 1 from the Ghostbusters movie might be just the vehicle you need for visiting the Ohio State Reformatory or other haunted Ohio sites. This tricked out 1959 Cadillac looks exactly like the one Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd used to save the day back in 1984.

There’s plenty of room in the back of this converted ambulance to haul your ghostbusting equipment or your groceries.

batmobile

Batmobile

This 1995 customized Chevy Caprice Classic is arguably the coolest of the lot.  Retrofitted to look like the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman, it’s perfect for cruising the streets of Gotham or any other town.

Too bad none of the sweet Bat Gadgets work.

The Auction

Bids are accepted in person and via a live auction online. Attendance is limited inside the facility to 120 people, to allow for social distancing. The auction will be held at Skipco Auto Auction, 700 Elm Ridge Avenue in Canal Fulton, Ohio. Face coverings are encouraged for attendees.

Register online and then call Skipco, for the access code by July 31 to participate. Once registered, you can enter your maximum bid ahead of the auction. That way you don’t have to participate unless you want the chance to bid higher than registered bids.
