Several disturbed individuals caused problems around town in separate incidents.
A Vinton Street caller reported a man in the road on Vinton Avenue beating himself up and kicking a backpack at 9:20 am. Officers took the man into custody
A 7th Street caller reported a man staggering around just before 1 pm. Officers took the man into custody.
At 5:30 pm, a Vermont Avenue caller reported a man passed out in his backyard. Police took the man into custody.
Officers responded to the Valero Gas Station on Gallia at 7 pm to deal with a man who is known to be an aggressive panhandler. Police took him into custody for disorderly conduct. This was his 26th arrest and his fourth arrest of 2022.
Police responded to the Portsmouth Post Office for a report of a woman causing a problem just before midnight. When officers arrived, they discovered a homeless woman who frequently tries to camp out in the lobby. She packed up her things and agreed to leave.
