If Ohioans want to get together safely, they need to follow the rules. Governor Mike DeWine issued his eight rules for get-togethers in the Buckeye State, and some of them may surprise you.  Did you know it’s suggested that some folks mask up at home? These rules are nothing new but the Governor did group them all together in one place for the first time.  Let’s check them out.

10 or Less

  • DeWine recommended limiting gatherings at households or family residence to 10 or fewer visitors. Limit visitors to family or close friends.
  • Residents in red or purple counties should not host gatherings of any size.
  • Wear a mask at all times at gatherings and stay six feet apart.

Get It To Go

  • Skip dining in restaurants in favor of takeout or deliver if possible. Only dine-in if it’s possible to properly maintain social distance.
  • Take extra precautions if you go to bars clubs. Drinkers often don’t wear masks and alcohol frequently leads to less social distancing.

Masks At Home

While wearing masks is not always suggested at home, there are situations where you might want to consider it.

  • Protect anyone in your household with a serious medical conditions at home by social distancing, wearing a mask, and frequent cleaning and hand washing.
  • Limit the number of individuals high-risk Ohioans interact with.

Small Group

DeWine suggested interacting with the smallest number of people possible. Make sure everyone in that group is taking appropriate precautions when they are out and about. Those include:

  • Wearing masks
  • Washing hands
  • Maintaining social distance

Don’t let your guard down even if you are dealing with friends, family, or neighbors.

COVID-19 Count
