Raymond Eugene “Gene” Kuhn, 85, of West Portsmouth

Raymond Eugene "Gene" Kuhn, 85

Raymond Eugene “Gene” Kuhn, 85, lifetime West Portsmouth resident, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021. Gene was the only son of Lena Belle Kuhn and Carl Franklin Eggers, born on January 12th, 1935 in Portsmouth, Ohio. Gene was raised by his aunt and uncle, Kathaleen and Harold Wiseman. He was a 1954 graduate of West Portsmouth High School, a US Army Veteran, and a member of the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge. He retired from Martin Marietta after 27 years of service and was an avid farmer throughout his whole life. Gene was a faithful, lifetime member of Carey’s Run Church of Christ. Gene was a loving husband and father.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, aunt, and uncle.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gayle Eris (Nee: Scott) Kuhn, married on March 10, 1956, Becky (Jeff) Blevings, of West Portsmouth, Dale (Regina) Kuhn of Minford, three grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) Blevings, Kaylee Blevings and Kathaleen Kuhn (Wesley) Book, two great-grandchildren, Bo and Ollie Blevings.
Visitation will be held at F.C. Daehler Mortuary on Saturday, January 9th, 2021, 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, with Funeral Service immediately following at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park, Rush Twp., Ohio, with Minister Larry Boggs officiating.
Masonic Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 7th, 6:30 PM, at F.C. Daehler Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gene’s honor to Heartland Hospice, 205 Street, #0400, Lucasville, Ohio 45648.
F.C. Daehler is caring for the family.
