Two callers told Portsmouth, Ohio officers that strangers were following them on Sunday. Plus, police dealt with reports of a suspected child sex assault and a man who loves Speedway so much he can’t stay away even if it means going to jail. We break down the highlights of the police log.

Strangers In The Shadows

  • Officers received a report of a woman on the front porch of a 7th Street home at 4 am. She told police people were bothering her. Officers observed no one on the scene. Based on prior experience, they believe she has mental health issues.  She said she would walk back to her mother’s home in New Boston.
  • At 5:05 am, a different woman showed up on the porch of a Vinton Avenue home claiming she was being followed. Officers couldn’t find anyone in the area.

Under The Influence

Police discovered a man lying on the porch of a High Street Home. They took him to his home on Summit Street.

Kids in Danger?

A caller from the Royal Inn called police around 7:20 am to say she heard children screaming and believed a man was raping them.

  • At 5:12 pm, officers responded to York Park for a report of a man in a white SUV harassed by another man. The caller said the man was beating on the guy’s vehicle and refusing to let him leave. Police advised the pair and the incident ended peacefully.

Kids In Trouble

A caller reported kids in a bad situation to police just after 9 pm. They said the children live with their father but do not want to live there any longer.

Further, the caller said the children continually get into trouble for minor incidents and there’s a lot of arguing in the home. An officer took information for a report.

Meanwhile at Speedway

Speedway’s biggest fan was back on the lot again just before 10 pm. We’ve told you before how James Wilson was banned from the property and has even been jailed for refusing to stay away.

He was back once again on the lot. Once again he was arrested and taken to the Scioto County Jail.
