Duffle Bag Full Of Needles

Just before 12: 30 am, police made a traffic stop at 8th and Broadway. A passenger fled the vehicle, leaving behind a green duffle bag containing several needs. People in the car identified the guy.

Police impounded the bag and disposed of the needles. They issued a warning to the driver.

At 1:12 am, officers searched an 8th Street home for the suspect. He wasn’t there but people did report seeing him run across 8th Street earlier.

Under The Influence

  • Officers answered a call of an overdose on Harding Avenue at 12:37 am. The caller reported a man in the bathroom for over an hour. He was unable to get the door open to check on him. When police arrived, the man in the bathroom refused assistance.
  • Just after 10:35 am, police answered a call about a woman lying in front of the Silver Palace sleeping. She left.
  • Police responded to a report of a man passed out between dumpsters at the Malt Shop. Officers arrested him.
  • A caller report an apparently high man lurking near a car on Bonser Avenue at 7:45 pm. Police could not locate the suspect.
  • A Chillicothe Street caller reported a man passed out near the main doors of the Park Apartments.  He was too intoxicated to go to jail. An ambulance transported him to SOMC.
  • At 9:20 pm, Summit Street residents reported an apparently high man sitting on their porch. They wanted him removed.

Porch On Fire

Just after 4:90 am, a 7th Street caller reported their porch was set on fire. Police took information for a report.

Stolen Beer For Breakfast

A man decided to get a head start on his drinking. Just after 8 am, Kroger on Gay Street reported a shoplifter took three beers. They did manage to get the last one away from him.

Police tracked him down at 8th and Findlay. The store didn’t want to press charges, they simply barred him from the store.

Officers picked up for disorderly conduct and transported him to the  Scioto County Jail.

Who Let The Dogs Out?

  • Police answered a call to Gilbert Avenue at 8:29 am for a report of a loose dog. A Columbia Gas employee was attempting to work at a home but the neighbor’s dog kept charging him. Police were able to contact the owner who put the dog back in the house.
  • Officers were called to Wayne Avenue at 7:21 pm for a report of a pit bull attacking residents in the area.  However, a witness told police the dog is not aggressive.  Officers contacted animal control and the officer said it didn’t seem like an emergency and they’d come out the next day to capture the dog.
  • PPD responded to another call regarding a pit bull at 8:11 pm. This time on Farley Court. The dog scratched one child and tried to bite another. Police took information for a report.

Hey! That’s My Stuff

  • A High Street caller reported a break-in at 5:28 pm. Among the missing items, a PS4 and a laptop.
  • A Thomas Avenue caller told police that a woman forcibly took her cell phone from her apartment just after 5:30 pm.  She said she punched the woman in the face and the woman took off and jumped a fence.
  • An employee of Little Caesar’s called police to report their bike stolen just after 7 pm.
