We’ve covered several reports of drive-by BB gun shooting in the Portsmouth area in the past few weeks, and now it looks like they’ve struck again.
Just before 8 pm, a woman called police to say her nieces, aged 8 and 11, were walking down Ritchie Street when someone in a white sedan shot at them with some type of gun. The girls said the shooter and a driver both wore masks.
The incident set off car alarms all along the street. The parents believe it was probably an Airsoft gun. Officers said they would patrol the area for possible suspects.
In the past few months, BB gun bandits have assaulted several local residents including a disabled man riding a scooter and a little girl on her way to school.
