Linda Lou Murphy, 67, of Wheelersburg, went home to be in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 18, 2022, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born February 25, 1955, in Logan, WV a daughter of the late Grant and Lois (Merritt) Farley.
She was a member of Portsmouth Apostolic Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and was very involved in all church functions. She enjoyed quilting and loved her children and grandchildren very much.
Linda is survived by her husband Dwight Murphy who she married on February 22, 1974; two sons, Dwight Murphy II and wife Lisa of Wheelersburg, Aaron Murphy and Beth of Portsmouth; a brother, David Fraley and wife Debbie of Sanford, NC; sisters, Patty Murphy and husband Art of Wheelersburg, Teresa Farley of Leland, NC, Yvonne Slack and husband Lee of Ridgeway, OH, Ginger Farley of New Boston and Lori Sperry of South Shore, KY; a grandchild Christian Murphy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Farley, and two sisters, Sharon O’Brian, and Elizabeth Faircloth.
The funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Randy Schintzius officiating. Interment will follow at South Webster Cemetery.
