Lawrence County’s new website is a one-stop-shop for citizens and businesses according to County Commission President DeAnna Holliday.

“You’ll find pertinent information about the county there and you’ll also have the opportunity to be linked to other county offices and services throughout the county.”

The website can be found at LawrenceCounty.org.

“We certainly encourage all officeholders and citizens to use it,” Holliday said it was another example of how the commission strives to be interactive, transparent, and available to the community. The commission announced plans to hold meetings on the road all over Lawrence County in an effort to meet those goals.

The new website is a great improvement over the previous one, offering large drop-down menus at the top of the page with links to each commissioner and department. There also links for news and interactive calendar of upcoming events in Lawrence County that allow citizens to search by topic and keyword. Citizens and the press will also have access to important Commission documents like meeting minutes and agendas for the commission meetings.

Professional-looking and easy-to-use websites are considered an important factor in communities attracting both residents and new business developments.
