Kenneth Wayne Hobbs, 85, of Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at his home. He was born July 13, 1935, in Lewis County, KY, a son of the late Horace M. and Mary Alice McCleese Hobbs.
Kenny was the owner of the former Kenny Hobbs Used Cars and he retired after many years there and with other used car dealerships. He was a strong Christian his entire life and a faithful member of Rubyville Community Church. Kenny also served our country in the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are three sons, Brent Anson Hobbs and Jason Shane Hobbs, both of Portsmouth, Sheldon Trent Hobbs of Columbus; his daughter, Stephanie W. Hobbs of New Windsor, NY; four siblings, Jack Hobbs of Orlando, FL, Roger Hobbs, Dorothy Hobbs and Betty Hobbs, all of Cincinnati; and seven grandchildren, Beau, Elizabeth, Heather, Chris, Laiken, Nicholas and Macie Hobbs.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Paul, Nile, Walter, Hazel and Thelma Hobbs, Violet Beckett and Lucille McDaniels; and two grandchildren, Brooklyn Hobbs and Ethan L. Boggs.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating. Interment will be in Soldier’s Circle at Greenlawn Cemetery with military graveside services by the James Dickey Post American Legion Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour. Masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced.
The flag of the U.S. Air Force will fly at the funeral home in honor of Mr. Hobbs’ service to our country.
