John Curtis Short, 45, of Portsmouth

John Curtis Short, 45, of Portsmouth, Ohio passed away at home on January 1, 2021. John entered this world on August 7, 1975, in Circleville, Ohio to Marvin and Dianna Short. He spent his childhood growing up in Chillicothe, Ohio.

He attended Zane Trace High School where he played football and went on to graduate in 1993. He then moved to Lucasville, Ohio where he spent most of his adult life and became the proud father of 3 wonderful children. John was remarkable in so many ways. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many lives during his time here on earth. John is preceded in death by his beloved son Johnathon Short

He is survived by his father Marvin Short of South Carolina, mother Dianna (Payne) Short of Kentucky, two daughters Heaven Short (Michael Bertram) and Destinie Short both from Ohio, two granddaughters Azelinn and Jordyn, sister Goldie Short (Paul Kupper) of South Carolina, brother Jeff (aka Frog) Short (Lisa Short) of Ohio, three nieces Angelica, Ricki, and Tabby, two nephews John Jr. and Michael. John also has several Aunts Uncles and Cousins that loved him very much.
Visitation will be held at F.C. Daehler Mortuary, on Monday, January 11th, 12:00 PM Noon to 1:00 PM, with Memorial Service immediately following at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to F.C.Daehler Mortuary, 915 9th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662, to help with funeral expenses.
