An intruder apparently inspired by “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” hit a home on St. Rt. 239 on Thursday.

Just after 10 pm, a woman contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office after she arrived home from work to discover a window open and all of the lights on inside her house.

When she investigated, she discovered someone had been sleeping in her bed, eating her food, using her tablet, and sleeping on the couch. Nothing was missing from the house except some pastries.

No Place To Go

Portsmouth’s homeless problem was in the spotlight when a Kendall Avenue caller reported someone had set up camp in the 1400 block of Kendall Avenue.

Officers spoke to a woman who told them she was homeless and had no place to go. She advised officers that she could not return to the homeless shelter because of previous incidents.

She gathered her belongings and moved off the property.
