Gary Lee Neff Sr. 78, of South Webster

Gary Lee Neff Sr. 78, of South Webster, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born April 17, 1943, in South Webster, a son of the late Simon and Gladys (Smith) Neff. He married Betty Lou Crabtree on September 29, 1963, in South Webster.

Gary was a former employee of Bloom Local School district and was loved by all. He never met a stranger and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling to different churches to learn and teach God’s Word. Gary also had an ornery nature and loved giving people a hard time.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Betty of 57 years; his son Gary Lee (Beth) Neff; his daughter, Barbara (Jeff) Eldridge and 2 special daughters, Rustie Adelle Linkous (Ryan) and Brooke Alexander Faircloth. Three special granddaughters, Alisha Cronin, Megan Phillips and Morgan Neff, all of whom he had a big influence on and a sister Ester McClintic; two great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters who loved him dearly.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Neff; six sisters, Helen Henson, Edith Seymour, Jane Dooley, Lottie Cook, Tillei Ruark and Hilary Loop; three brothers, Simon Neff, Lehman Neff and Leonard Neff.

Gary will be remembered for his teasing jokes, his wildly entertaining stories, and his powerful testimony, his generous smile, and his wiliness to help anyone in need.
The family wishes to thank SOMC Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 14, 2021, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Ronnie Rawlins officiating. Private interment for the family will be held at South Webster Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to SOMC Hospice Center.
