Faye Maureen Goodman, 97 of Portsmouth died Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at SOMC Hospice. She was born August 30, 1923, in West Portsmouth to the late Fred and Mamie Hamm Stone. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard, a daughter, Kathie, her second husband, Paul, a brother, Don Stone, a sister, Betty Stone.
She was a faithful member of Carey’s Run Church of Christ. She loved her Lord and her family fiercely. She made it her life’s goal to care for her family members and was her happiest when she was with them. She was a fabulous cook, an avid gardener, and bird watcher. After retiring from Mitchellace, Faye went to work for Setty’s Grocery where she retired again. After that retirement, she began working at the Mex-Itali Inn for many more years before she finally retired.
Faye is survived by a son, Larry Calver, 6 grandchildren; Kerry Price Doub, Nicholas Odle, Richard Calver, Michelle Perkins, Kortney Calver, and Ashley Calver, 9 great-grandchildren; Caleb and Cade Stecher, Margaret and Madeline Odle, Todd Williams, Tucker Brickey, Madison Fleernor, Alec Johnson, Willow Perkins, and a brother, Bill Stone, along with several nieces and nephews that she adored.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2021, at the Carey’s Run Church of Christ with interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday starting at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to SOMC Hospice in Faye’s memory. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
