Elmer Albert “Al” Wooten, 81, of Waverly, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 24, 1939, in Missouri Branch, West Virginia, son of the late Cecil Wooten and Susan Damron Jones.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Carol Miller Wooten; daughters, Brenda Singer and husband Jay and Deborah Chapmon and husband Mark; a son, Michael Wooten; grandchildren, Derek Singer and wife Jenny, Laura McGarvey and husband Alex, Deon Singer and Spencer Chapmon; great-grandchildren, Shayla McGarvey, Landon Singer, Tavyn McGarvey, Dillon Singer, and Drayden McGarvey; a brother, William Wooten and a sister, Peggy Lester.
Al proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.
