A Portsmouth mom ended up in the Scioto County Jail after a night out with her husband turned into a drunken rampage. According to the police report, the woman stripped off her pants and attacked one of her kids in her Robinson Avenue home.

I’m leaving her name out of this article in order to protect the kids involved. But here’s what police said went down just after midnight on Sunday.

Portsmouth Police Reports: Child in Danger

May 29, 2021

Too Much To Drink

At 12:08 am on Sunday, officers were called to a Robinson Avenue home for a report of domestic violence. A husband told police he’d been out drinking with his wife and that they’d hit several local bars during the evening. Officers said the man was pretty intoxicated himself.

The evening was going pretty well until the woman decided she needed to hit the bathroom. She stripped off her pants and her underwear and went upstairs to use the facilities.

Wetting The Bed

According to the husband, one of the kids came downstairs and informed him that the wife was naked on one of the kids’ beds. She told the son that she was just going to go ahead and pee in the bed.

The husband told her it was inappropriate to be naked and drunk in front of the kids and suggested she go into her bedroom and put on some clothes.  But the fun didn’t end there.

Grabbed By The Throat

According to one of the kids, the wife began to argue with the husband for confronting her over being naked. The woman started to throw things around the bedroom. Eventually, she went downstairs and put on a pair of shorts. Unfortunately, she decided it was a good time to go for a drive. The husband said his wife grabbed the keys to the vehicle and attempted to leave.

When the husband and one of the kids stopped her. The woman grabbed the son by the neck. According to his statement, it was difficult to breathe for a time. She eventually let go. The woman then proceeded to pick up beer bottles and throw them at everyone in the home. Eventually, she fled the scene.

CPS Called

Officers observed marks on the son’s body and said that he was very upset about the incident. There was no claim of the husband being abusive, but he was highly intoxicated.

Officers called CPS and arrangements were made for the children to stay with responsible adults.

 The Charges

Officers located the woman on Monday and took her into custody. She was booked into the Scioto County Jail on charges of domestic violence and endangering children
