A suspected shoplifter tried to run, but she couldn’t hide from Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies after a report of a shoplifter at a Wheelersburg business.
At 1:30 pm, a caller said a shoplifter had just left the Factory Connection in a green vehicle. A deputy spotted that same vehicle in the parking lot at Kroger.
They took one woman into custody; the other woman was inside Kroger helping herself to some batteries. She tried to run from a deputy, but she was taken into custody after a short foot chase. According to the incident report, she had a bag of batteries on her.
Deputies released one woman who was instructed to report to her probation officer the next day. Deputies managed to retrieve all of the stolen property.
