A worried son contacted Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies at 7:30 am to report he spotted suspicious activity on the security camera at his father’s home on Mt. Hope Road
He saw a man crawling through the window and another walking around outside the home. Fortunately, his father was out of town and not in harm’s way.
When deputies responded to the scene, they encountered an armed suspect that they took down with a TASER. One deputy injured a shoulder during the incident. A deputy took a firearm off that man and he was transported to the hospital for treatment. Offices discovered items in his pocket that appeared to have come from the scene.
Neighbors told deputies they spotted a suspicious vehicle heading in the 600 block of Mt. Hope Road and discovered more evidence inside.
The homeowner’s son responded to the scene to check out the condition of the home.
