On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, Cornelia “Heidi” Dickerson (nee Ostheim), 61, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Heidi was a devoted wife and mother, gifted seamstress, quilter, and baker. She was proud of her German heritage, would polka anywhere she could, and knew all of the words to the songs in The Sound of Music. For nearly 30 years, Heidi was a driven career woman working mostly as an executive assistant. She loved to be outdoors with her dog, Charlie, spend time by the creek on the family property, and lounge in the pool on warm, summer days.

Anyone who knew her would tell you she was one of the strongest, most stubborn people they’d ever met. They would also tell you how much she loved the Lord. It was Heidi’s strength and faith that helped her fight cancer, its side effects, and the debilitating side effects of its treatments for the past 13 years.

Heidi was a devoted member of Bible Study Fellowship where she met some of her nearest and dearest friends. She was a longtime member of The Naz in Grove City, Ohio, until moving away in the spring of 2020.

Heidi leaves behind her devoted husband, Damon Dickerson; daughter, Chelsea Mitchell; brother, Roland Ostheim (Brenda); sister, Marion Ostheim (Jim); and countless extended family members and friends who will miss her tremendously. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horst and Gisela Ostheim. We rejoice in knowing that she is with Jesus, free from pain and the difficulties of this world, and look forward to being with her again one day.

A celebration of life will be held in Heidi’s honor at a later date for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Heidi Dickerson to: https://www.bsfinternational.org/support/memorials-and-honorarium/

Cards can be sent to: The Dickerson Family, 500 Rocky Fork Rd, Otway, Ohio 45657.
