Unfortunately, the animal became impaled on the fence and was injured.

Shots Fired

A Dorman Drive caller reported gunshots at 5:20 am. Officers couldn’t find any sign of trouble.

Grandkids Out of Control

A Kendall Avenue grandma called police to report that her grandkids were out of control at 7:41 am.

Officers advised her to contact the juvenile court if the kids didn’t shape up.

Hey! That’s My Stuff

  • At 9 am, a Kendall Avenue caller reported a vehicle break-in with multiple items stolen. Officers took information for a report.
  • The Family Dollar on 11th Street reported a bald shoplifter in a black jacket. The man left the store. Police could not locate him.
  • At 5 pm, Big Lots reported several items stolen from the store. Officers took information for a report.
  • A Center Street resident reported a stolen car just after 9 pm. PPD took information for a report.

Car Bursts Into Flames

At 7 pm a woman reported the vehicle she’d purchased just three weeks earlier burst into flames on 6th Street.

She said she was driving in the alley when the started shorted out and caught fire. The driver and a passenger were not injured.

The woman asked police if they would have the vehicle towed. Officers arranged for a towing company to take it to an impound lot.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

A citizen flagged down an officer on Jackson Avenue to report a possible stolen vehicle. Police arranged to have the car towed and released back to the registered owner.

Bringing The Heat

Just after 8 pm,  pair of 17th Street residents allegedly assaulted their downstairs neighbor because they were upset about the heat in their apartment.  Officers advised all parties to calm down.

Police said the downstairs neighbor had no control over their heat. The victim refused medical treatment. Officers advised all parties to calm down.

Twenty minutes later the downstairs resident reported the upstairs residents were flooding her apartment.

Officers noted wet, damaged sheetrock but were unable to contact the upstairs neighbors. The landlord said he would check into the incident the next day.

Mom Doesn’t Want Son To Get a Job

A Kendall Avenue mom got into it with her son because he wants to get job training.  Police responded to a report of a domestic at a Kendall Avenue Apartment at 9:30 pm.

They discovered a mother and son arguing. The 18-year-old son wanted to attend Job Corps training. His mother thought it was silly. Police advised them to stay away from each other if they couldn’t get along.

Out In The Cold

Police responded to the Scioto Trail for a report of a man sitting on a bench near the Marathon station.

Officers attempted to find the man a place to stay. The crisis center would not accept him without medical clearance and a referral from SOMC.

Police arranged for an ambulance to take the man to the hospital.

Trapped In The Bathroom

Officers responded to Highland Avenue to assist a resident trapped in an unusual spot just before midnight.

The person was trapped in their own bathroom after the doorknob fell off.
