The Boogaloo Movement: The Far-Right Conspiracy Theorists You Didn’t Know About

It’s fair to say that most people these days have at least heard of QAnon, the far-right conspiracy group that supports President Donald Trump and believes that the world is secretly run by a group of satan-worshipping democrat leaders. What most people have never heard of, however, is The Boogaloo Movement, an organization even further right, and even more insane than QAnon. On message boards, instead of “Q”, they use “K”. This is representative of their leader “The Big Kahuna”.

Members of the Boogaloo Movement refer to themselves as “Boogaloo Bois (Boys)”. They have embraced a tropical-themed wardrobe and they spread their memes on social media with Tropical or Fiesta themed background to signal the group’s association.

The Boogaloo Movement does not fall under a set list of ideologies, and the only defining feature of members of this is that they all believe that the government has overstepped their bounds and the only way to take control away from the government is through a second civil war.

What’s interesting about this group is that despite the fact that they are an alt-right organization, and many of the group members are overtly racist in their statements, a large portion of Boogaloo members actually participated in the Black Lives Matter back in the summer. This is because The Boogaloo Movement is extremely anti-police, as they see the police as one of the main methods used by the federal government to control Americans.

It’s hard to determine exactly how many members are currently a part of this organization, but recent reports from big tech companies like Facebook indicate that The Boogaloo Movement groups had tens of thousands of members, at the least.

Regardless of The Boogaloo Movement’s political beliefs, they are an inherently violent group that has been linked to multiple murder and assault cases.
