High on the Job?
A Big Lots employee contacted officers at 3 pm to say a recent hire appeared to be high on the job.
They reported the woman was currently passed out in the office. When officers responded to the scene, she told them she’d been up all night and was now very tired.
Police said they found no evidence she was intoxicated.
Homeless Issues
Just before 6:30 pm, a caller reported a man passed out behind a church on Summit Street. The man told officers he is homeless and was charging his phone at the church while he took a nap. Police advised him to leave the area.
Body Discovered on Slocum Road
Officers responded to a report of a body found in a creek near Slocum Road and Harding Avenue shortly before 7 pm.
Six units responded to the scene. The body was located approximately 100 yards south of the bridge, and the coroner took charge of the deceased.
Suspicious Activity
Kinneys Lane neighbors reported seeing people inside a home that should be empty at 8:30 pm. Officers found the door open, but they didn’t find anyone inside. They re-secured the door.
Police Check Bridges after Jump Threat
Officers checked all of the bridges in the area for a potential jumper after a witness told them their ex had threatened to jump off a bridge.
Wanted Man Busted at Traffic Stop
A traffic stop at the Speedway on Gallia led to the arrest of a man with four open warrants. He attempted to give a different name to the police, but they located his ID in the car.
Officers arranged a tow for the vehicle and took the man into custody for falsification, probation violation, violating a protection order, and driving under suspension.
It was his fourth arrest in the past six months.
