Billie Castle Hamilton, 72, of West Portsmouth

March 27, 1948 - February 6, 2021

Billie Jean Castle Hamilton, 72 of West Portsmouth passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at SOMC Hospice after a long illness.  She was born March 27, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio to the late William and Laura Spence Castle.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude “Sonny” Hamilton, a daughter, Tammy Newman, a granddaughter, Kayla Payton, 3 brothers; Robbie, Roger, and Ricky, and a sister, Claudette.

Billie attended Portsmouth City Schools and Paramount Beauty School.  She was a friend to all who knew her.  She was a kind and giving person.  She dearly loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Billie is survived by a daughter, Cheri Payton (Jim Tice) of Portsmouth, 2 grandchildren; Samantha (Justin) White of West Portsmouth and Adam Newman of Lucasville, 4 great-grandchildren; Logan Journey, Alayah White, Brookelynne White, and Bryson White, a brother, Kevin (Lori) Castle, a sister, Loretta (Paul) Keyser both of Portsmouth, along with many nieces and nephews, and her longtime friends; Judy Roe and Donna Southworth.  She will be missed by all who loved her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Southern Ohio Medical Center and Hospice for the care and kindness shown to Billie and their family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 12, 2021, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with interment in Memorial Burial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7:00 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
