Beverly Glenn, 65, of Portsmouth

Beverly Sue Glenn, 65 of Portsmouth passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2021, at SOMC Hospice. She was born December 1, 1955, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Alvis Riley and Edna Marguerite Buffington Glenn. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and a warm smile.

Bev made friends easily and will be remembered fondly by her friends at Star Workshop. Her work included parts assembly, landscaping, housekeeping, and furniture refinishing. She attended Rosemount Elementary, Happy Hearts/Vern Riffe, Star Workshop, and was a representative of the Scioto County MRDD Board, she was a board member of People First. She participated in Special Olympics, cheerleading, swimming, basketball, softball, bowling, and choir. She was an avid sports fan for Clay girl’s softball, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, NASCAR, and WWE.

She attended Rubyville Community Church and Stockdale United Christian Church, where her church family and friends loved her. Special thanks to SOMC Hospice staff for their loving care and compassion for Bev and her family during her stay there. We also wish to thank Minford Retirement Center staff for their special care of Bev during the last 5 years.

She is survived by one brother, Harold L. Glenn; three sisters, Barbara Pfleger, Charlotte Glenn, Janet Glenn Matney; a sister-in-law, Norma (Pelfrey) Glenn; eight nieces and nephews, Cathy (Brent) Glenn Ward, Steve (Sheryl) Glenn, Cheryl (Bert) Glenn Jones, Kevin Pfleger, Micah Glenn, Gabe (Andrea) Glenn, Jared (Audrey) Matney, Jennifer (Matt) Matney Clark, and thirteen great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Eugene (Beanie) Glenn and Gary Wayne Glenn.

Because of COVID, an outdoor service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Rubyville Community Church followed by a burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
