Calli, a beloved pest-control manager at Portsmouth Feed & Supply has passed away. Her human staff announced her passing on the store’s social media account. They said the long-time fixture at the store was close to 20 years old.
They remembered the calico cat’s beautiful big eyes and skills as a mouser. “Thank you for choosing us to be your humans! You will be missed every day! You rest now, you did a great job.”
Store customers shared their memories of Calli as well.
“Every time my kids were in the car when I would come to buy something, they HAD to get out and pet all the cats. Calli was usually the easiest to find, curled up on the counter asleep in a box. She will definitely be missed!”
“My family shopped there before her time and has moved to the Columbus area. She was a beautiful cat, and I am happy to hear she kept the mousies away, an invaluable service in your trade. I am sure she will be missed. Hopefully, the word doesn’t reach the mice anytime soon.”
Cali is survived by her close friend and pest-control department co-worker Bailey and her human family.
