Truck vs SUV

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol crash reports, the driver of the SUV, a 52-year-old female, was traveling eastbound on State Rt 220. She had slowed down to make a left hand turn onto Boswell Run Rd. The 39-year-old male driver of the truck attempted to pass the female as she was turning. The truck struck the SUV and then continued to the left, striking a guardrail, going over the embankment and striking a tree. Both parties were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The driver of the truck was cited for 4511.27 Overtaking and passing of vehicles proceeding in the same direction.

Motorcycle vs SUV

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol crash reports, the SUV was stopped on US 52 in Washington Twp to make a left-hand turn. The SUV was driven by a 58-year-old male with a female passenger. The motorcycle was operated by a 69-year-old male. According to the motorcycle driver, he did not see the SUV stopped in the road, the brake lights, or the turn signal due to the sun in his eyes. He stated that once he saw the vehicle, he laid the bike down to avoid further injury. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to SOMC and then transferred to Grant Hospital in Columbus. In addition, the driver of the motorcycle was cited for 4511.21a Assured Clear Distance

Truck vs Pedestrian

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol crash reports. two juveniles were walking along Washington Blvd in West Portsmouth. One of the juveniles, a 13-year-old boy, was struck by an F-350 driven by a 28-year-old male. The report stated that the roadway did not have lighting. The child was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital. As of now, no charges have been filed.

Car vs Bicycle

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol crash reports. a 9-year-old male child was riding his bike on 10th Street in West Portsmouth. The report states that the child did not stop his bicycle at a stop sign and crossed over Washington Blvd where he was struck by a 65-year-old male. The child was taken by airlift to Cabell Huntington Hospital with suspected serious injuries. No charges have been filed.

Car vs Motorcycle

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol crash reports. a vehicle being driven by a 25-year-old female was southbound on  County Rd 153 in  Valley Township. She attempted to make a left onto Cockrells Run Rd. Failing to yield for the stop sign, she was struck by the motorcycle that was operated by a 49-year-old male. The male was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The female was cited for 4511.43 Right-of-way rule at through highways, stop signs, yield signs.
