The Rush Off-Road Park in Boyd County was awarded $4 million dollars in grant money to pay for improvements to the 7,000 acre ATV/UTV park near Ashland.

The park features over 100 miles of trails designed for all-terrain vehicles.

The money came from the Abandoned Mine Lands program and will pay for a new access road and the extensions of sewer and water lines to the trailhead. The project will be managed by the Boyd County Fiscal Court.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said, “Expanding much-needed infrastructure at the Rush Off-Road park will help to boost visitation and add other economic development opportunities, which is critical for this region.”

Congressman Hal Rogers agreed, saying that off-road trails are attracting more visitors every day to Eastern Kentucky and that the improvements will allow for new cabins, campsites, and other facilities.

“This grant will help the Rush Off-Road park entice visitors to stay a little longer, by adding the infrastructure to support new cabins, campsites, and other facilities.”

Rush Off-Road park has been open since 2012. Once the improvements are made, there are plans for cabins, a welcome center, a shower/bathhouse, a storage facility, and a facility for washing vehicles.

$10 off Grocery Pickup

Located on Four Mile Road in Rush, the park is open seven days a week.

Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am – 11:00 pm.

Friday – Sunday 6:00 am – 12:01 am.

Admission is $30 per day per vehicle. A $40 weekly pas or a $95 season pass is also available.
